Wonder League Robotics Club

Inspiring Future Technology Leaders

The Wonder League is a worldwide community of clubs inspiring the creators of tomorrow through robotics and coding.

We are so excited to introduce coding and robotics to your child with Dash & Dot, the friendly robot duo from Wonder Workshop. With our help, children will learn valuable skills such as creative problem solving and teamwork.

There is no experience required! We have the robots and tablets, and we guide the children through the lessons and challenges.

Click here for information on weekly clubs at the Mad Science Kids' Lab in Hoboken.

Please note: We can also bring the Wonder League Robotics Club to your school, homeschool group, scout troop, organization or location. Call (973)542-8366 for pricing and availability.

Wonder League Robotic Competition 2017-2018

Coding is the new team sport for future tech leaders and innovators. This year, teams will participate in three rounds of missions over a five-month period to become eligible for a Wonder Workshop sponsored Invitational Round in Spring 2018. Teams of kids, ages 6-8 and 9-12, will design solutions for real-world science and technology challenges by programming Dash & Dot. They will develop problem-solving and creativity skills while building meaningful relationships with their peers and having fun! Plus they will display their scientific thinking through authentic journaling.

Mission 1 will be released September 18, 2017. Mission 2 will be released October 30, 2017. Mission 3 will be released January 1, 2018. These missions can be completed in any order. Preliminary scoring will be done offline locally, but all mission solutions must be uploaded by February 16, 2018 in order to be considered for the Invitational Round which begins March 5, 2018.

This year Mad Science has several options for teams wishing to compete:

  • Teams that have registered on their own are welcome to use our training space during open-lab hours. You must reserve time in advance (no more than one hour per day in order to allow many teams to utilize the space). Team will have access to one set of Dash, Dot, tablet, and a training mat for use at this time.
  • For a nominal fee Mad Science will host your team. This includes registering the team, uploading all coding, priority training times at the Kids' Lab, and a t-shirt for team members.
  • For no charge Mad Science will score your team's completed mission(s) based on the judging rubric from Wonder Workshop.
  • All local teams are welcome to participate in any or all of our exhibitions (details to come):
    • November 18 and 19, 2017
    • December 9 and 10, 2017
    • February 10 and 11, 2017
