Classes at the Mad Science Kids' Lab

Mad Science’s interactive classes and pre-school programs are designed to reinforce core science concepts. With professional lesson plans, unique equipment and animated instructors, Mad Science classes are sure to be a hit with your children.Our hands-on approach and focus on science and engineering teaches kids about the fun of science and helps to spark their imaginations! 

Our science programming instills a clearer understanding of science and how it affects the world around us. Through our programs, children are able to touch, see, hear, feel and taste what science is all about. Additional materials are sent home to extend the fun and learning. 


Winter 2018 classes are winding down. The following are available for drop-in students @ $15 per class:

Inventive Investigations (System 4)

Mondays 3:45-4:45 PM (grades 1-6)

STEMulating Science (System 5)

Children will discover the wonderful world of animals— above and below water! Your Mad Scientist will feel the force of energy, the pull of gravity, and the might of motion in three exciting physics explorations. They will also take a creative look at the world of art through a scientist's eyes, and experiment with robots and robotics, building a robot's hand that they can take home!
Topics: All About Animals, Energy Burst, Get Connected, Life in the Sea, Moving Motion, Radical Robots, Super Power Sources 

  • Mondays 3:45-4:45 PM. Grades 1-6. April 9-May 21, 2018 (7 sessions). $90 per child. 



TODDLER TUESDAYS: PreK & kindergarten classes - SYSTEM YELLOW

Children will learn about science by touching, feeling, and even tasting their science experiments. We leave children inspired and hungry to learn more. We spark imaginative learning! All of these programs have been developed to suit the interests and understanding of pre-school children. These workshops are designed specifically for preschool and early elementary children with safety in mind.

  • Tuesdays 10:00-10:30 AM for ages 3.5-5. Stay from 10:30-11:00 AM for snacks and free play.

  • Tuesdays 1:00-1:30 PM for ages 3.5-5. Stay from 1:30-2:00 PM for snacks and free play.

  • Tuesdays 3:45-4:30 PM for kindergarteners. Stay from 4:30-4:45 PM for snacks and free play.

The cost is $100 per child for 8 sessions. Single sessions are $15 each IF THERE IS SPACE (please check registration website)! Each club meets once a week for 60 minutes including class, snack time, and free play time. Each week children will take home a project to reinforce that week's concept.

 NEW! In a world that is increasingly influenced by technology, we believe that it’s essential for children to get familiar with 21st century skills and the understanding of how we, as humans, program machines to create a better future. With Mission: CODE we empower girls and boys with basic computational thinking skills and knowledge of computer programming concepts in a fun, accessible way. Weekly lessons include a combination of online and unplugged activities that allow the children to practice the programming concepts and get immediate feedback. Each child will receive 12 months online access to videos, games, and classes to continue learning.


  • Wednesday 3:45-4:45 PM. Grades 2-7. April 11-May 30, 2018 (8 sessions). $100 per child.

Coding is the new team sport for future tech leaders and innovators. This year our Mad Science instructors will help children design solutions for real-world science and technology challenges by programming Dash & Dot. They will develop problem-solving and creativity skills while building meaningful relationships with their peers and having fun! Plus they will display their scientific thinking through authentic journaling. Each child receives a club t-shirt.


  • Wednesays 5:00-6: 00 PM. Grades 1-6. April 11-May 30, 2018 (8 sessions). $100 per child.

Schoolhouse Chess is devoted to helping kids develop learning and thinking skills by teaching them chess.
Benefits of learning chess include:

  • Helps to build students logic, memory and pattern recognition.
  • Improves problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Schoolhouse Chess brings chess pieces to life using creative and animated personalities that enable students to learn the game in a fun and exciting way. Students become fascinated with imaginative chess characters that accelerate the learning process.
